If you want to continue eating suya after reading this, then you are free to do so, afterall, the Igbo spirit is a free spirit but one thing you should know is that too much of Suya is not good for you.

A lot of Igbo people now eat Suya, a form of roasted meat which has its origin from and mostly prepared by Hausa people. What if there was a conspiracy to kill Igbo people gradually through Suya or red meat? Well, at times, I feel there could be either knowingly or unknowingly but I'm not blaming Hausa people or Northerners for the continued devaluation of Igbo life because we all have the power to contrl our future as what we do today decides what will happen to us tomorrow.

What I'm basically saying is that it's better for an Igbo man to stop eating Suya than to continue eating it because it's not healthy for the long term. If you however, find yourself addicted to it already and can't stop, then it's good you also eat a lot of fruits to neutralize the side effects it could have on your body.

If you must eat Suya, then eat it with a lot of onions which should probably be equal to or greater in size than the Suya you are eating. Alkalyzing crops like Onions helps to reduce the acidifying effects of red meat on your body. It is better however not to eat it as there has been many health reports claiming that excess consumption of such roasted red meat causes cancer such as breast cancer and prostate cancer. You can reduce your chances of having cancer by simply avoiding Suya but if you must keep eating it, then you should also keep eating a lot of alkalyzing fruits such as Onions, Oranges, Grapes, Onions, Carrots and others.

Suya is not a traditional Igbo food but that doesn't meant that Igbo people don't eat red and roasted meat. Igbos roast their meat raw and can eat wit the palm oil prepared with pepper and Onions but Suya is normally roasted with Groundnut oils and also served with sauces that may actually increase your risks of high blood pressure because of the sodium levels. So, apart from cancer risks, there is also a high blood pressure risk associated with eating Suya which is not a traditional Igbo food.

It's alarming that a lot of young Igbo people(men and women) now die in their 40s and 50s when their parents are still alive in the village and live to be 80 and 90 years of age. It's probably because they have been eating foods different from what their parents ate.

An Igbo person can live a longer life if he sticks to eating those fruits and foods that his forefathers ate rather than eating non Igbo foods like Suya, Shawarma Hot Dog, Fried rice and so on. I hope you get my point?

When you are Igbo, your body system has a higher chance of survival when it is exclusively fed on Igbo foods only. Stop risking your life or shortening it by patronizing non Igbo foods.
