Ruling Nigeria is the dream of every tribe in Nigeria but not everyone of them has achieved that. While some have achieved that partially, some have never reached that feat and some are working hard to achieve it. Some people rule Nigeria by becoming public officers while some become politicians to do so. Some rule Nigeria by controlling the means of production or a sector of the economy. There are many ways to rule the Nigeria and the ultimate goal is to secure the future and progress of the people that rule it.

Ruling is really all about controlling what happens in your environment. When a person or tribe cannot control what happens in his country, his survival is threatened and his progress is hindered. No one wants to be limited or prevented from achieving what he wants to achieve and so there is normally a race to grab power so as to rule one's environment.

Although, some Igbo people are already talking about going back to Biafra and seeking for international assistance in carving a state out of Nigeria through a referendum and without the need for going to war as the case was in the 1960s. There is a growing cry for Biafra and majority of Igbos do support that cause but the truth is that not every Igbo person will return to Biafra if it eventually becomes a country as some will choose to remain in Nigeria. The reason why most of them want Biafra is becasue of the pressing desire to rule their country and control what happens in their environment so as not to be under the control of strangers or enemies that only make laws and rules that hinder their progress and survival as a race.

In Nigeria, there are a lot of Igbos and I'm grateful to God that we are among the major tribes in Nigeria because of our huge population which runs to tens of millions. A Wikipedia page about Igbo people estimate that there are about 32 million Igbos in Nigeria. I've never heard of a time in Nigeria's history where a census has been done and people were categorized according to their tribes or ethnic group and I do believe that if that was done, the Igbo population will be as big as the population of Algeria and so can form an independent nation of their own. However, considering the huge Igbo population and their future prospects, they do have what it takes to rule Nigeria not necessarily through running for President or political posts but by also growing their population to exceed that of the Hausas and the Yorubas.

There are a lot of Igbos in the traditional South East region but Igbo population goes beyond what is today's south east region as it flows also into other regions such as the Middle belt and South south region. After the civil was of the 1960s, new states were created and Nigeria's map was redrawn making it look like Igbos only live in the South East region while neglecting the fact that there were Igbos who has also been living in states like Kogi, Benue, Niger Delta and others for over 200 years before the creation of Nigeria.

Apart from Igbos living within their traditional home land, there are also millions of Igbos living all over Nigeria in cities like Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, Cross river, Edo, Rivers and many other states in Nigeria in big numbers. There are almost everywhere in Nigeria as it's hard to see a mixed community of Nigerians anywhere in the world without seeing Igbo people.

The Igbos in Nigeria have an opportunity to fully rule Nigeria if they work hard enough and it's not necessary that they become the President or Vice President as they can become industry leaders in vital parts of the economy.

How can the Igbos rule Nigeria? The easiest way for Igbos to rule Nigeria is by increasing their population by 100%. Yes, just by increasing their population two-fold will make them more powerful than their competitors such as the Yorubas and Hausas as they will have more power to make decisions that affect issues in Nigeria. It will give them power to do things like rename Nigeria to Biafra or any other name if they want to. They will be able to Christianize or Islamize Nigeria if they want to although I'm betting more on the former. They will be able make laws that promote the lifestyle of the average Igbo man living in Nigeria.

The Igbos are already ruling Nigeria partially but not fully enough as their influence is a bit obstructed by other tribes competing against them for power. Igbos don't control the army, they don't fully control the economy and they don't fully control the legislature.

The Igbos can rule Nigeria by being more educated and making more money. They can rule by being more spiritual and relying on supernatural power. They can rule by voting for their fellow Igbos when they run for office. They can rule by investing in startup businesses and making them profitable. They can rule easily by having more children to increase their population.

Igbo men and women should start getting married much early rather than later as some men now do because of one reason or another and they should start having more children early rather than later as delay does not pay and this slows down the progress of their race.

The more Igbo population grows in Nigeria, the more power they'll have to rule Nigeria but their population has to grow faster than those of other competing tribes if they truly want to fully rule Nigeria.
